A breakdown affected several websites on Friday, including the social network of the US president Truth Social, and the sites Canva and Doctolib, due to a problem identified by the American online service provider Cloudflare.
“We are aware of the issue affecting the availability of Cloudflare’s network,” said the company’s chief technology officer, Dane Knecht, on X at 4:20 a.m. (Eastern Time), specifying that it was not an attack.
After being inaccessible, displaying an error message that mentioned Cloudflare, several sites were working again a few minutes later, AFP observed.
Earlier in the morning, many internet users reported connection problems on several sites on X.
Cloudflare is a platform that provides security, management, and traffic optimization services for websites and applications.
It claims to handle nearly 20% of global internet traffic.
In mid-November, its services had already been affected by a major outage that resulted in the unavailability of many sites for several hours.
